Movie review:Shutter Island
Shutter Island directed by Martin Scorsese is a psychological horror film. Actor Leonardo DiCaprio plays Teddy Daniels, a United States Marshal who travels to Shutter Island by ferry to investigate the disaperance of a patient from the asylum for the criminally insane. The island itself is creepy and constantly covered with fog. While on the island Teddy starts to have have hallucinations about his wife's death and war images of corpses stacked outside death-camp barracks. Teddy then finds out that his wife's killer could be a prisoner on the island. When the missing patient is found Teddy plans to leave the island but is continuosly held back from leaving by the doctors and the uncontrolable hurricane- like weather. The movie then becomes twisted and complex when Teddy finds out he could be one of the patients at the asylum. Shutter island becomes one of those movies that you continuosly question the information and never figure out the end until minutes after the film has ended. If you like mysteries this is the perfect movie for you because it will keep you guessing until the very end.

The details are perfectly described and do not give away too much of the movies mystery. Although I have not seen the trailer for this movie your review describes it well enough to imagine it myself. Great review!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll give this a skip based on the "images of corpses stacked outside death-camp barracks"!
